2010 Delaware Valley Engineers Week

Events
The Delaware Valley Engineers Week Committee offers these events related to Engineers Week.
Golf Outing Thursday, October 1, 2009.
The 10th Annual Engineers Week Golf Tournament will take place at The Island Green Country Club, 1 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115. This golf outing supports the activities of Engineers Week in the Delaware Valley.
Future City, Saturday, January 23, 2010
The Philadelphia Future City Competition, now in it’s 15th year, will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Sheet Metal Workers Hall in Philadelphia. Mentoring opportunities are available now and many volunteers will be needed the day of the competition.
Awards and Proclamation Luncheon, Friday, February 12, 2010
The revised Awards and Proclamation Luncheon will take place at Loews, Philadelphia and will include:
- A poster session with presentation of student paper winners from 11:00 am to noon prior to the luncheon
- The awards and scholarships previously presented at the Saturday banquet will be presented at the luncheon
- Engineers Week proclamations will be displayed
- The Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year will make brief remarks
Young Engineers Social, Monday, February 15, 2010
This new event, which replaces the Young Engineer of the Year banquet, will be a happy-hour type event at Yards Brewery, a location geared to younger engineers. The Young Engineer of the Year will make brief remarks
Celebration of Engineering Gala, Saturday, February 20, 2010
The culminating event of Engineers Week will be a social / networking gala event to celebrate engineering at the Chemical Heritage Foundation, Philadelphia. Rather than a banquet, there will be cocktails, heavy appetizers stations, and dessert stations. Other features of the event include:
- Award recipients will be honored with posters / exhibits / running PowerPoint in the networking area
- Future City Competition Regional winners will display their first place model
- The Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer of the year will provide brief remarks, followed by a brief recognition of the Hall of Fame, Outstanding Service, and Engineering Achievement award recipients
