Celebration of Engineering Gala
Saturday, February 20, 2010
6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Chemical Heritage Foundation

The Celebration of Engineering Gala on February 20 at the Chemical Heritage Foundation was a change from the previous sit-down awards banquet. This new event attracted nearly 80 people who enjoyed the opportunity to socialize and network with others in the engineering community over cocktails and food provided by Starr Events.  Selçuk Güçeri and Michael Witkowski both provided brief remarks and there was acknowledgement of our other award recipients.  The students from Our Lady Help of Christians, winners of the Philadelphia Region’s Future City Competition, were there to explain Nauru, the city they designed and built. Many attendees enjoyed the exhibits available at CHF.  The permanent exhibit, Making Modernity, is a first-of-its-kind exhibition that brings the story of chemistry to life. With topics ranging from alchemy to computer chips, Making Modernity changes the way you think about chemistry.
